Hey there, running and walking enthusiasts! It's that time of year again when the air turns crisp, and the leaves start to change. What better way to embrace the fall season than by participating in some exciting community races? Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to stay active, mark your calendars for these upcoming events that promise a blend of fitness, camaraderie, and a dash of Halloween spirit!

#1. Puyallup Valley Half Marathon & 10K

Date: Saturday, October 7th, 2023, at 8:15 AM

Location: Van Lierop Park/Foothills Trail

Get ready to kick off the fall running season with a scenic and mostly flat course. This USATF Certified event at Van Lierop Park is perfect for both seasoned runners and newcomers. Lace up your running shoes and join us for this beautiful run/walk through Puyallup's picturesque landscapes.



 

#2. Orca Recovery Day

Date: Saturday, October 14th, 2023, at 8:30 AM

Location: Clark Creek Park South, 1710 12th Ave S. Puyallup, 98371

Experience the magic of nature while celebrating Orca Recovery Day and Salmon Restoration. This moderately challenging trail offers the opportunity to learn fascinating facts about Orcas and salmon restoration efforts. Your participation helps support the survival and thriving of these incredible creatures.



 

#3. Haunted Hustle 5K & 10K

Date: Sunday, October 29th, 2023, at 8:30 AM

Location: 125 S Meridian, Puyallup, WA 98371

Halloween enthusiasts, this one's for you! Don your spookiest or kookiest costume and get ready for the Haunted Hustle 5K & 10K. This Halloween-themed event promises a hauntingly good time for all ages. Don't miss out – space is limited!



 

#4. STEP Veterans 5K

Date: Sunday, November 12th, 2023, at 9 AM

Location: Bradley Lake Park, Puyallup

Let's come together to celebrate and honor our brave veterans who have served and continue to serve our country. This event also raises awareness for the Support The Enlisted Program (STEP), which assists enlisted men and women in all branches of the Military. Join us for a meaningful and memorable day.



 

#5. 6th Annual Gobble Gobble 5K & 10K & Giblet Dash

Date: Thursday, November 23rd, 2023, at 8:15 AM

Location: Pierce College, Puyallup

Thanksgiving Day is the perfect time to work up an appetite! Join us for the 6th Annual Gobble Gobble 5K & 10K & Giblet Dash at a new location with a new course. The first 200 registrants will receive a signature Turkey Fork Medal. Everyone gets a bib, medal, and commemorative shirt. Let's give thanks and walk/run!



 

Looking ahead, don't forget to check out these holiday-themed races, including the Grinch 5K and the Christmas Eve Ugly Sweater 5K & Elf Dash. Puyallup's running community is buzzing with energy, and we can't wait to see you at these fantastic events.
